Welcome back! I guess that works both ways lol. I took a break to go on my bae-cay. Whenever I go away, alone or boo-ed up, I like to take time to really enjoy where I am. I take pictures and vids of stuff I want to remember and things I think y’all would appreciate seeing and knowing about.
Exploring comes natural (until we learn fear), so when I go to a desired destination, I wander….. a lot. The relaxed oasis that is Bali exceeded our expectations. Definitely a vibe that seems unique to there. As with (almost) anywhere you go there are things to look out for, and I’ll share everything I learned to the best of my ability. This is learning by living luvs! And paying it forward!
When I downloaded Air b-n-b YEARS ago, Bali was actually the FIRST place I had saved. At the time I could SEE myself there, just didn’t know how I would. This year, for our anniversary, I finally made it there. Relax and I’ll let you know everything Bali that I experienced.
One of many beautiful places to explore in Indonesia, Bali is a happy medium of untouched world and world accessibility. I already know we’ll be back. My disclaimer is; we went during low season, so it wasn’t flooded with tourists as it may be during peak season, so my experience may not be the same as yours. To be honest though, I think even if you DO happen to make it there during peak season, your place of stay will always be your refuge. The scenery in Bali is so picturesque, it’s easy to leave your worries behind.
I was lucky enough to go during dry season. I got mixed answers on that; some said wet, some said dry, but it didn’t rain while I was there, so I’m going to go with dry. This anniversary trip was probably the most ideal time, so the stars and weather swings were on our side. When heading over there, it said rain every day…. can’t always believe the forecast.
To start off and warm you guys up, I’ll give a glimpse of one of our homes away from home. This unique space got my attention and the explorer in me was down to walk right in. I’ve stated in other blog posts how I support Air b-n-b big time. Hotels are also on there, especially local ones, hostels, and boutiques. It isn’t reserved to just people’s homes, BUT it does give you more variety in stay and your imagination can go further than in a standard hotel. HOWEVER, standard hotels still have their own niche nobody can take away. I stayed in a luxury hotel for our weekend getaway (on vacation… you’ll know soon) and we absolutely loved it. Bed and breakfasts give competition when it comes to pricing, but to be fair, hotels have more employees to support, so it’s fair game when it comes to choosing.
OK! lol that’s all cleared up, lemme show you guys one of my favorite spots that we stayed at. Each place had something unique to offer, but a few just hit the nail on the head as far as our preferences are concerned. I can plan a trip, but it always must be catered to the individual.
This spot was a perfect toss of Balinese decor, nature accessibility, open concept, pops of color, Dora the explorer trek of a place. To get there you have a doable walk to your villa. We arrived in the night and actually surprised ourselves the next morning when we saw the path we took with no lights! I have clips, but I won’t give it all away, because It’s worth finding out individually. Once you’re in the mindset to bring out your inner “Dora” or even “Dory” you’ll find that life is one big adventure, and there is other places on the map to explore.
The bed was comfy, the water pressure beat, the room was clean, the views were breathtaking. The best part? It’s affordable! You can essentially go anywhere and spend a lot of money on stay, for me, that’s just not practical. I don’t reject luxury living, I’m just living within and below my means. Splurging isn’t a necessity when it comes to travel.
