Life

Do you Dare?!?

How many of my luvs are ALL about adventure?? Or least are adventurous in their head? lol. I am SUCH a thrill seeker and it makes me alive!! I know I’m not the only one, and some of you reading this are either about that life, or deep down want to be, but are stopped by fear. How many things do we avoid in life just because we are sacred?

Fear is a great thing and it does serve it’s purpose. Fear is our version of protection, BUT do we need as much protection as we think we do? We live in a world that promotes fear, because it can be so debilitating that people in power can use it to control masses. I do NOT like feeling like I am being controlled, and so I go out on a limb (pun intended) and try things that would normally scare me, even challenging my fear of spiders(that is an entirely different post for a different day, but you def want to tune in, lol)!!!!

Do you love roller-coasters or do you stay away? It is interesting to note, nobody in my immediate family is daring, or at least not in the thrill seeking kind of way, but I can say I have challenged my fears time and time again. You guys are going to LOVE my adventures I have planned for 2019!

I’m not quite sure exactly WHEN I fell in love with adventure. I remember climbing up mountains in Colorado, snorkeling in the middle of the Ocean in Cozumel, Mexico (I will find these pics and post them with my coming adventures) knowing damn well I couldn’t swim to save my life, and yet, that didn’t stop me!

I’ve never let fear stop me, except my fear of bugs and even that, I’ve been working on the last couple years. I can’t say I’m cured, but my fear is in remission (lol). There is a sense of pride I get when I overcome and do something bold, and all my thrill seeking luvs know what I am talking about! People always talk about how scared they are to do things, and truth is, SO AM I! The difference is, I WANT to push past that fear. It is amazing the strength your mind has when you tap in to it and exercise it.

Going to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, I KNEW we had all intentions of bungee jumping,….. and then we got there. Listen, walking up that plank started to change that excitement to life endangering fear, and every step I got up, I was trying to suppress it, but it was boiling over, and my first attempt was a fail!

I was WILD excited to bungee jump, wanted to go first and everything!… Then i ended up being last and them nerves were fighting me. I was still about it because “I ain’t no punk.” I started walking up the plank, not really looking down too much, but noticing below me. My logic is saying “It’s cool, it’s water!” I get all the instructions and am ready mentally but my nerves and reflexes are like “you sure??” So! He counts to 3 and even though I TRIED TO jump, my hands and my feet stopped me, like, straight made and ‘X’ at the doorway and my chest went forward but my hands and feet pulled me back in (lmao), so he had to PUSH me! After the jump, well push, I was dangling there screaming…. and the adrenaline kicked in I’m like “THIS WAS AWESOME!!!**screams** WOOOOO!!!” he pulled me up and said I could go again, for free and I replied “I’m good, that’s probably my once on a lifetime experience.”

The bigger picture is; when you push past Your fears and conquer them, it gives you a new confidence that you can do anything. It does not have to be something like playing with wild animals, or bungee jumping, taking selfies through your sunroof, snorkeling knowing you can’t swim or zip lining through mountains, but challenging yourself to do things outside of your comfort zone opens up new doors to SO many different hallways inside your mind and spirit. I challenge you to find something you’re afraid to do, it could be as simple as call the girl you’ve been crushing, or pursuing a passion you convinced yourself not to because of all the fearful thoughts. Do it and let me know, publicly or privately that you tried it, and lets laugh and applaud ourselves for being brave! Make a memory, live a life, you only have one. I’m rooting for you!!

Here are a few bonus pics for you guys of random adventures in Oco Rios, Jamaica too……
